At Renew, we believe children and youth are vital parts of the church today, not just church members in waiting. It is important for us to partner with our kids and youth in ministry and encourage them in their identity in Jesus as beloved members of an intergenerational, diverse community. Renew Kids is committed to creating safe and growing environments for kids and youth of all backgrounds and abilities to know, love, and serve God.

What to Expect on Sunday Mornings?

Check in your child (Ages 0 to 3rd grade) at the Renew NextGen Check In station in the lobby. Then, all kids and youth are welcome to stay in the sanctuary with parents. We have a kids' corner in the back of the sanctuary with a table for coloring and activity boxes. After we worship together, we will break into fellowship time for everyone to grab snacks and head off to their worship space for the rest of the service.

Littles (Ages 0-4): They are invited every Sunday to the staffed nursery down the hall from the sanctuary. Storytime and a themed activity will be available each week as well as free play. There is also a family room opposite the sanctuary with a rocking chair, changing table, and pack-n-play for a quiet space.

Kids (Pre-K to 3rd Grade): Every 2nd and 4th Sundays, they will meet downstairs in the main kids room. Renew Kids is a space for children to connect with God through curiosity, creativity, and playful experiences. During their time in the kids' classroom, we will celebrate the diverse Body of Christ and explore our role as followers of Jesus through learning about service and peace-making.

Middlers (4th to 7th Grade): Every 2nd and 4th Sundays, they will meet downstairs in the hallway classroom. The Middlers connect with God by encountering and exploring Scripture through the lens of curiosity. During the lesson, Middlers will build relationships with one another, their leaders, and God.

Youth (8th to 12th Grade): Every 1st and 3rd Sundays, they will meet upstairs in the youth classroom. The Youth will dig into theological foundations to strengthen their faith, understanding of God, and connect with the Almighty. Through discussions and relationships with one another, Youth will grow together and with God. Youth meet once a month on a Friday for fun outings and activities to build relationships with one another.

3rd Sundays

On the third Sunday of every month, all of Renew Kids and Middlers will stay in the Sanctuary for the whole service. Kids and Middlers will be invited to interact with a shorter and age-appropriate sermon. Youth will come back to the Sanctuary after the sermon to take Communion with the rest of the congregation. All congregants are invited after the service to the Fellowship Hall for a communal potluck.
