Whether you've attended church your entire life or never been at all, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. You’re not quite sure what to expect and you probably have a lot of questions. We at Renew want to welcome you well and invite you into a good experience of worship and meeting people.
Here’s some information that should help:
WHEN IS THE SERVICE?
We have one service that meets at 10:00am on Sunday mornings.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Wear what you want! We welcome jeans, t-shirts, shorts, slacks, dresses, bowties … whatever! You’ll see a few folks dressed up; you’ll find most folks dressed pretty casually--even the pastor. The only rule we have is: Come as you are!
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Renew is located at 2721 164th ST SW in the Northpointe area of Lynnwood. We’re on the corner of 164th ST SW and Manor Way just kitty corner from Five Guys Burger and MOD Pizza. For more detailed information and a map, see below.
WHAT’S THE SERVICE LIKE?
First of all, you won't be pointed out or made to feel awkward in any way. You will have a meaningful, stress-free experience in a safe place...and you might even have some fun!
Each service is about 90 minutes. During the first 15 minutes of the service you'll enjoy some modern worship music led by our Worship Band. We'll have the words to each song up on the screen, so you can sing as much as you feel comfortable!
After a few songs, some readings, and a prayer there is usually a sermon followed by a closing song. For the youngsters, there is programming every 2nd and 4th Sundays. Renew Kids (K-3rd grade) and Renew Middlers (4th-6th grade) are dismissed to their classrooms for the rest of the service. For more info about what our youngsters do, please visit our Renew Youngsters' Page. Also our nursery ministry is up and running with caring volunteers rotating in every Sunday morning. Of course children of all ages are welcome to stay in service anytime--we don't mind kid sounds during worship! There is a kids' area in the back of the sanctuary with a table and chairs along with activity boxes as an option.
THIRD SUNDAY
Every 3rd Sunday we have a non-traditional service. This means there is stripped down worship time, guest speaker or testimony, and no live stream. Instead, we are led through a creative engagement with Scripture and more intentional opportunities for interacting with one another. We also take Communion with one another and continue the family meal with a potluck afterwards.
IS THE CHURCH WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
All of our entrances are wheelchair accessible. There are slip-resistant ramps at the 164th st. entrance and the breezeway entrance to the Annex building. All other entrances are on parking lot level. There are disabled parking spaces on the Southwest and Northwest corners of the building closest to our two main entrances.
We have a wheelchair accessible unisex bathroom across from the Fellowship Hall in the church.
Welcome to Renew! We hope to become your multiethnic church home.
